Michelle Carter, MEd, RDN, LD

Michelle has combined her great loves into her career:  teaching people how to eat well, move more and cook fabulous food since starting her career as a registered dietitian in 1995. Michelle graduated Magna cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Houston while dancing professionally with the Delia Stewart Dance Company.   She completed her dietetic internship with Baylor College of Medicine in Dallas.  During her internship, Michelle was selected to work with the nutrition team at the Cooper Clinic in Dallas.  There she worked with dietitians, exercise physiologists, and board-certified physicians providing comprehensive preventive exams for individuals seeking an in-depth evaluation of their overall health.  This fueled Michelle’s interest towards disease prevention, and she continued her education pathway earning a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Houston.

Following academia, Michelle was selected to establish the nutrition department at the renowned Houstonian Health Club and Spa.  While at the Houstonian, she worked as the sports dietitian for Team Houston traveling to Cairns, Australia for the Eco-Challenge Adventure Race, appeared weekly on Channel 13's Health Beat in Houston and worked as the Boise Ironman Sports Nutrition Coach for Performance High in Boise, Idaho.  Michelle is an accomplished speaker and media expert, and former Idaho nutrition spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Her expertise lies in difficult weight loss, fighting inflammation, autoimmune disease, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, corporate wellness, and disease reversal and prevention.  Michelle has a passion for giving her clients of all ages the gift of feeling their best and boosting their energy with individualized healthy eating plans for home and when dining out.

After being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in 2013, Michelle understands that even healthy people are faced with medical challenges.  She seeks to empower clients with how small dietary changes equate to reduced disease risk factors and feeling better.  Michelle’s motto is eat well, perform well, while enjoying practical, delicious culinary fare.  If you are interested in a nutrition upgrade, make an appointment with Michelle by calling Center for Lifetime Health, and learn how the power of nutrition can reverse genetic predispositions and enhance the quality of life by up to 80%.
