Dr. Eck received his Medical Doctorate from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 1989. He trained at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho from 1989-1992. Dr. Eck has been in private practice since completion of his residency and is Board Certified through the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr Eck has privileges at both St. Alphonsus and St. Luke's Regional Medical Centers.

Dr. Eck enjoys Family Medicine because of its focus on health of the total person over a lifetime and values his long-term relationships he has with his patients and their families.

Dr. Eck has four children and a fabulous wife. He enjoys his involvement in the community, non-profit organizations, and medical staff leadership.

In his spare time, Dr. Eck enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, paddle boarding, and most anything outdoors.

Laura is a Boise-native and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Arizona State University. She worked as a Registered Dietitian for 5 years with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention. Later, she received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree at Idaho State University. She has practice in a women’s health clinic for 3 years prior to joining Center for Lifetime Health.

Laura enjoys all aspects of family medicine with particular interests in preventive medicine, women’s risk reduction for cardiovascular disease, wellness exams, and adolescent health.

In her spare time, Laura enjoys racing triathlons, mountain biking and camping with her boys, gardening, and experimenting in the kitchen. Laura’s unique skills and interests will make a great addition in providing comprehensive health care to you and your family.


Shelby received her undergraduate from Washington State University and Central Washington University. She obtained her Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and her Licensed Dietitian certificates and has since worked at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center and S&S Nutrition providing expert care for her patients.

Shelby appreciates working in a field where she is constantly being challenged. She loves how the science is always evolving and new treatment options arise.  Her passion is helping people work toward a healthier lifestyle and seeing patients goals come to fruition.

In her spare time Shelby enjoys taking her dogs to the park, cooking, videography, and spending time with her family and friends.



Colleen Shackelford, NP-C

Colleen Shackelford is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Colleen completed a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in 2011. She completed a Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Portland in Oregon in 2004. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society of Nursing. 

Colleen is delighted to join the team at Center for Lifetime Health. She brings 5 years of experience in family medicine and enjoys caring for patients and their families across the lifespan. As clinicians that blend clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating health conditions with an added emphasis on disease prevention and health management, Nurse Practitioners bring a comprehensive perspective to health care. 

Colleen is married and has two young boys. She enjoys running, volunteering in her community, and spending time with her family and hiking the great outdoors of Idaho.
